Recently, many organizations have come about that are advocating for the elimination of child labor around the world. Such examples of these organizations, like ILO and UNICEF are heavily against child labor in any form. These organizations have helped local governments, including our own, to try and combat those supporting child labor such as child traffickers. They view the progress on the elimination of child advocacy as slow, and are calling for better and faster responses to this issue. UNICEF believes that taking immediate and drastic measures would be the best course of action any of us would be able to do. They believe that going after the root causes of child labor will be the fastest way of reaching their goal of eliminating child labor. They believe granting these children freedom and giving them their basic needs such as food and education to be the best way of helping them. They also gave them therapy and counseling, to help deal with the massive trauma that they have underwent. ILO views the worst kinds of child labor to be those that endanger the physical, mental, and emotional safety of these children. ILO supports our governments efforts to alleviate the pressures that these children are going through, by supporting such programs such as the Philippine Program Against Child Labor. Similarly this organization, through their actions, have show that going at the source will always be the course of dealing with this problem and one day eliminating it. They have called slavery, prostitution, trafficking, and any form of work that’d endanger the lives of any child. These are forms of child labor that both organizations stress are the most important forms to tackle and deal with immediately. Sincee other forms of child labor may vary from city to city, they stress that the environment must be considered to properly deal with these.
